If you think that Malaysian kids couldn’t be more incredible than they already are, given all their achievements, be prepared to be stunned yet again! As reported by Berita Harian, a group of primary school students from 2 local schools managed to bag 5 medals at a prestigious international competition for robotics held in South Korea!

As you can imagine, robotics isn’t exactly a simple science. It takes a great deal of learning and comprehension in order to get the hang of building even the most rudimentary robot and getting it to work smoothly. But with considerable skill, these kids not only managed that feat, but they also beat out several other competitors from different countries while doing it!

Students from SK Seri Terentang (SKST) managed to beat teams from South Korea, Philippines, Japan and China in a Sumo-Bot tournament to take home the gold. What’s a Sumo-Bot tournament, you ask? Well, it’s when two robots duke it out on a stage, and in traditional sumo style, whichever one stays in the ring wins!

Students from SKST are so good at their game in fact, they will even be representing Malaysia at the international MakeX World Championship 2019 held in China! Woah!

What’s incredible is that the school was initially unable to fund the team to participate in such a huge tournament, but with the help of sponsors who saw the team’s incredible performance from a few different state-level and international competitions held in Malaysia, they managed to sign up and enter the competition.

Meanwhile, students from SKPP 11 bagged over 4 medals in different categories: 1 gold, 1 silver, and 2 bronze!
