Durians are known to be one of the most expensive local fruits in the market, and it’s easy to see why, especially since they aren’t as widely available as other fruits. Despite being known as the ‘King of Fruits,’ durians come in many different grades. Regardless, many locals still choose to sell even the less-than-perfect durians, but usually at a cheaper price.
In a recent TikTok video, @damianajunpakartilam shared a heartwarming experience from her visit to a durian stall in Kuala Berang, Hulu Terengganu.
The 2 boys wanted to get durians
In the video, @damianajunpakartilam is seen approaching 2 boys she had met earlier at the durian stall with her husband and offering them some durian.
Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, she explained that while she and her husband were picking out durians, she noticed the boys counting their money, seemingly to buy durians for themselves.
To her surprise, the boys were planning to buy a single rejected durian being sold at a much cheaper price, which they did.
“I’m happy that they’re happy”
@damianajunpakartilam explained that, on top of the rejected durian the boys purchased, she decided to buy another durian for them, and even asked the vendor to open it slightly so it would be easier for the boys to handle and eat.
“I asked the stall owner to open up the durian just a little so the boys could open them up themselves and enjoy them more easily. I shared the video because I feel very satisfied, even though I only did a small act of kindness. But I’m happy that they’re happy.”
She also shared that when she gave the durian to them, they were incredibly grateful and thrilled by her kind gesture.
“Don’t be shy about doing good”
@damianajunpakartilam concluded with some heartfelt advice saying,
“I want to remind everyone that when you think of doing something good, don’t wait. Just act on it. No act of kindness is too small, and you’ll never regret making the effort. Don’t be shy about doing good.”
Netizens were moved by her act of kindness, leading them to flood the comment section with their reactions!
“It’s so early in the morning, and watching this has already brought me to tears.”
“I feel touched whenever I see someone doing good deeds. Malaysians are all good people.”
“Sister, if you want to tell a story, just write it. No need to bring onions. Now we’re all in tears.”
“I feel exhausted coming home from work, but watching videos like this reminds me just how much I have to be thankful for.”
