Dr Akmal Saleh continues to help those in need in any way he can.
The UMNO Youth Chief recently visited a Malaysian father who had school uniforms ready for his children, but could not afford other necessities. The man, who has eight children, is struggling to pay for his children’s textbooks and tuition fees at their respective primary and secondary schools.

After providing the exact amount needed, Akmal informed the father that he would be handing over the money to Razif, Akmal’s assistant, who would submit the payment to the school directly. Akmal also pointed out that he didn’t want the kids to go to school without textbooks, which would complicate their learning process.
“As for the tuition fees, I’ll take care of it. Don’t worry.”
“I don’t want the children to attend school before everything is fully ready,” Akmal told the man.
In his Facebook post today (22 January), Akmal revealed that the struggling father is not the only person he would be helping when it comes to school affairs.
“I’m not taking my salary when this happens.”

Akmal, who recently resigned as the state Executive Councillor (Exco) for Rural Development, Agriculture, and Food Security, revealed that he will be donating his salary for this month to help the less fortunate kids by providing them with textbooks and settling their tuition fees. Akmal, however, is not expecting anything in return, but merely wants what’s best for the children.
“I want our children to be able to study together with others.”
“I couldn’t bring myself to take a salary when the children here are unable to attend school properly.”
In his post, he also urged those who need help in settling their children’s tuition fees and purchasing new textbooks to reach out to him.
He pointed out that education is a crucial key to changing one’s life, and no child should lose the opportunity to receive education due to limited family circumstances. He added that a child should be able to go to school properly so that they are motivated to study with others.
