China: Now that Disneyland is trashed, Ikea’s next!
Citizens of China, famous for their infamous lack of ethics, have once again attracted the media’s attention. And this time, it is for the lack of not just clothes, but underwear.
A post from the Chinese social media site, Weibo has gone viral when pictures of a lady baring her naked bottom, whilst shopping at an Ikea shop has gone public, reports The Shanghaiist.
It is either her gray sweater-dress had rode up her hips without her knowing or that it is now ok to go shopping without underwear and pants. In that case, I believe many of us didn’t get the memo!
The pictures supposedly taken in Ikea Beijing were captioned, ‘I finally know why Beijing people like to shop at Ikea’.
The person who uploaded the pictures were contacted by Tencent News, but claimed that the pictures were taken by a friend at an Ikea store near Siyuan Bridge. The person was also reached by law enforcers to remove the photos and lectured on appropriate media content.
So it would seem that this mysterious lady wearing only a gray top has successfully escaped scot-free, after flashing her bottom to the unsuspecting public.
Most netizens who came across her pictures expressed their disgust at her images.
“Doesn’t she have any shame?” one commented.
Another said, “This lady still young but doing these things. What is she thinking?”
In response to the uproar of netizens, Ikea has released a statement on Weibo, “There is speculation about the behavior of IKEA as it opens up new stores. IKEA strongly denies this speculation.”
Apart from denying claims that the little stunt was a commercial exploitation, Ikea released an official statement on the indecent incident.
Unsurprisingly, these weren’t the only photos of a woman baring nudity in Ikea. After the original post, a second batch of pictures has also been circulated on the world wide web, but was quickly taken down.
Many have viewed the pictures as outrageous and disrespectful, while some seeing the lighter side of things, simply find it humorous.
Of course, not every Chinese people are uncivilised but many blame these bad-mannered individuals are usually main-landers and have ruined the reputation of the general Chinese citizens of China.
This wasn’t the first time a store in Beijing has caused drama. Last year, a video of a chinese couple having sex in Uniqlo went viral after it was uploaded on the internet.
Then recently, Shanghai Disneyland was literally trashed RIGHT AFTER their grand opening, with some visitors even having their kids pooping in public!
