Bolu’s journey
In an interview with WORLD OF BUZZ, Bolu, whose real name is Fatokun Faith Boluwatife said that he has been in Malaysia for almost 5 years.
The 28-year-old who is a PhD researcher/content creator first came to Malaysia in 2017 for his Masters programme which he completed in 2020.
“I started my YouTube channel ‘EXPLORE WITH BOLU’ in July 2019 after I’ve observed Malaysia and genuinely fell in love with the country. Indeed, I got immersed into the Malaysian community because of the sincere love of her people.”
“Today, content creation about Malaysia is what I do not for gain, but because I literally see Malaysia as my second home,” he added.
He said that found the true description of unity here as he is amazed at the very peaceful coexistence of different races in one country who live, eat, work, and play together regardless of religion, culture and tradition.
“My first impression about Malaysian people is their warm and hospitable character. They welcome you into their arms so lovingly and take you as their own. I find Malaysians to be friendly and inquisitive, they genuinely want to know more about you and it makes me feel loved and cared for,” he explained.
On his trip to Melaka, Bolu said that it was a very remarkable and memorable one as he felt so much at home, the love, vibes, food, and excitement is something else different from other places he’s been to.
“To be honest, I wasn’t surprised by the friendliness of the people as I have seen this as a normal lifestyle of the Malaysian people in general. However, I was just overwhelmed at how they pour so much love and embrace everyone so easily,” said Bolu.
“I just want to use this medium to tell Malaysians that I love you all and I love your country. Some people try to paint different pictures, but, focus on the personality and not the race. My love for Malaysians knows no bounds.”
On whether or not he’d choose to continue residing in Malaysia, Bolu did not hesitate in saying that if he had the chance, he’d make Malaysia his second home.
“I love Malaysia, I love her people, and I love the bond of peace, colorfulness and unity in this country. Only a blind person would come to Malaysia and say otherwise,” he concluded.
