Malaysian veteran actor Adam Corrie recently revealed why he has not appeared on screen for a couple of years, denying claims made by some Malaysians.
No, he is not a millionaire, and he has not stopped acting. Unfortunately, he has simply not received any offers for nearly two years.
In a recent interview, Adam, who turns 57 this year, said the false perception that he is now a millionaire may stem from his F&B business, Kopi Hut, which he has been running since July 2024. Adam last appeared in Takluk: Lahad Datu and Miftah Alam, both released in 2024.
Adam is best known for his role as “Dragon” in the 2010 local action film KL Gangster, and its prequel KL Gangster 2, which was released three years later.

He also shared that even when approached for TV or movie roles, he was only offered RM300 per episode and RM250 per scene, rates he feels are unfair, especially given his nearly 30-year career in the industry. Adam denied being demanding, stating that he has built a reputation over the decades, with several of his films performing well at the box office.
“I think even a 7-year-old could recognise me. Until today, there are fans who call me by my character’s name.”
Adam added that a year before Kopi Hut opened its doors, he had already been inactive in acting for a year. Despite his absence, he expressed that he is still passionate about acting and capable of performing action stunts.

“This question always pops up when I go live on social media: ‘Am I not acting anymore?’ Sometimes, I feel embarrassed to tell people that I have no offers,” Adam said.
The Chinese-Muslim actor also emphasised that even if he were a millionaire, it would not affect his interest in acting, he would still want to perform.
