Singer and actor Aliff Aziz has expressed his heartfelt congratulations to his ex-wife, Bella Astillah, and her fiancé, Syed Saddiq, following their recent engagement.
Aliff and Bella divorced after he was caught in a khalwat (close proximity) raid by the Federal Territories Islamic Religious Department (JAWI) with Malaysian actress Ruhainies.

Seeing Bella happy with Syed is all that matters
Speaking at the iQIYI Open House recently, Aliff, 35, revealed that he had learned of the news through videos and messages sent by members of the public.
“I saw some short clips of their engagement and, honestly, I wish them all the best. I’m truly happy for them,” he said.
Aliff added that the occasion became even more meaningful when he saw his children, Mohamad Ayden Adrean and Ara Adreanna, enjoying the event.
“When I saw my children happy at the event, I felt incredibly joyful. They are always in my prayers. For Bella and Syed, I hope their union continues to grow, eventually leading to a happy wedding day and a lifetime of happiness,” he said.

Public appeal and apology
The singer also appealed to the public to send good wishes not only to the couple but to all parties involved, including himself.
“I’m only human, not an angel or a prophet. If I’ve said or shared anything that was inappropriate, I sincerely apologise,” he added.

Past relationships and controversies
Bella and Syed Saddiq became engaged on 28 March in Kuala Lumpur. Bella was previously married to Aliff in September 2016, with the couple first separating in May 2019. Although they reconciled briefly, they ultimately parted ways for good in March 2024. The former couple share two children, Ayden, 9, and Ara, 6.
In a recent podcast, Aliff revealed that he had “lost count” of the number of times he had cheated on Bella Astillah when asked if he had been unfaithful 11 times. The final breakdown of their marriage followed the raid where Aliff was caught for alleged khalwat with actress Ruhainies at her residence.
Clarifications and future plans
Both Aliff and Ruhainies have claimed that reports regarding the alleged khalwat incident were greatly exaggerated. The actress also noted that, despite the controversy, she has continued to receive job offers from abroad. Ruhainies maintained that, during the raid, she had simply invited Aliff over to have dinner with her siblings.
Syed Saddiq and Bella Astillah are expected to tie the knot later this year, though no official date has been shared.
