After months of hints and teasers, the lovebirds are no longer hiding their relationship.
Former MUDA Youth chief Syed Saddiq and actress Bella Astillah got engaged today (28 March).
According to Syed, the actress agreed to spend the rest of her life with him after he proposed to her on Mount Kinabalu.
“I asked, she said yes. This is our beginning.”
In Syed’s Instagram post this morning, which, at the time of writing, has amassed over one million views, he shared that he proposed to Bella on Mount Kinabalu while it was raining.
In the same post, Syed reflected on how their relationship blossomed from professional collaborators into a couple now heading towards a happy union.
“It began as a simple collaboration that eventually raised over RM6 million for the people. Without realising it, it also brought two hearts together,” he said, referring to several charitable projects and campaigns they have worked on together over the past two years.
Their close relationship has often sparked speculation among netizens, especially as they are frequently seen together at various social initiatives, earning them the label of an “ideal pairing” among fans.
“It is the imperfections that make this matter more. Will you marry me?” Syed proposed, to which the actress said yes.
“Allah is the best planner.”
Syed also expressed gratitude for the journey of their relationship so far, noting that what was initially meant to be a fundraising campaign for the people of Muar unexpectedly blossomed into something romantic.
The couple has yet to reveal their wedding date. However, Bella previously hinted at the timing when she commented on Syed’s earlier Instagram post, saying she could not wait for the week after Hari Raya Aidilfitri.
