It’s never easy when there’s a death in the family. Chef Wan’s mother, Noraini Abdullah breathed her last on January 12, and just yesterday (January 13), Chef Wan took to his Instagram and expressed what he felt about the loss of his mother.
In a series of videos and images, the celebrity chef shared the final journey of his mother before was buried, and despite being the last to leave his mother’s grave, he admitted that it wasn’t the easiest thing to do.
“I had some peace moment to chat with my mom, say whatever i needed to say, made some promises and said goodbye.”
After going home, he certainly had a lot to reminisce about, and that was when he shed a lot of tears, knowing that he will never be able to feel his mother’s touch again.
“I will never be able to feel that finger all over my face in the middle of the night. It was her way of making sure i am sleeping next to her when she woke up every morning.”
Despite his sadness, Chef Wan said he knew he has to move on with his life, and there’s one thing that he does to remind him of this.
“I have no regrets”
To mend his heart, Chef Wan said he’ll remind himself of the good times that he spent with his late mother, and how he tried his best to make her happy when she was still alive.
“I’ve no regrets. In fact, I’m proud and happy. Allah has his way to cushion our pain and sorrow in the most beautiful way, I supposed.”
He then continued and said, “Can’t describe it but you must earn all this by your own good deeds to your parent. After that, nothing else in the world really matters anymore.”
“Save a fund for your parents”
Near the end of his post, Chef Wan reminded the people to start setting up a fund for their parents just in case they fall ill in the future. As for the chef himself, he had personally put aside RM350,000 just for the medical expenses of his late mother.
“If you want a quality medical attention for your parents, you must start setting up a fund or buy a medical insurance for them.”
Rest in peace, Noraini Abdullah. Our thoughts and prayers go to Chef Wan and his family during this tough time.
