The owner of the lorry involved in the horrific crash that killed nine FRU officers in Teluk Intan says the vehicle had passed its inspection just last month.
“Last month, I went to Puspakom and the lorry passed inspection. After that, I renewed the road tax,” said Ravi, who owns the vehicle and preferred not to share his full name. He added that all the paperwork was in order.

This comes after Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi suggested the tragedy might’ve been avoided if the lorry had gone through a proper inspection — something Ravi insists it did.
Ravi says he’s devastated by what happened. “Of course, I feel heartbroken,” he said.
“On behalf of the company, we apologise to the families of the victims, and I also extend my condolences to them. I would like to meet them to express my sympathies.”
He added, “I constantly think about how they must feel. They’ve lost family members, lost husbands — how will they go on with their lives? When the head of the family is gone, of course their lives will be difficult.”

The crash happened Tuesday morning around 8:40 am. A lorry loaded with gravel collided with an FRU truck that was taking officers back to their base in Ipoh after working security at a local festival. Nine officers were killed, and two others were critically injured.
The lorry driver, 45-year-old Rudi Zulkarnain Mat Radi, had only been on the job for about six weeks. He’s now facing charges for reckless driving causing death.
