Recently, the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) revealed their investigations found that GISB Holdings Sdn Bhd (GISB) had never paid their relevant taxes.

This investigation was in collaboration with the Inland Revenue Board (LHDN).

Now, LHDN is trending on social media platform, X (formerly known as Twitter), as many Malaysians are sharing their disbelief and disappointment over the fact that LHDN has never discovered GISB’s lack of tax payments.

“Are you not doing work? Regular folks who are earning pennies, you will harass to pay (taxes), companies that earn millions can get away for years!”

Lhdn 3

“Is LHDN blind or what? (GISB) is not a new company, they’ve been around for years. Take action against the officers who are responsible.”

Lhdn 5

Some compared this to their own experiences with LHDN.

Lhdn 6

“That’s right, bro, I also don’t understand. I once declared wrongly and received a penalty of RM5,000, (when I) didn’t pay, they threatened to confiscate my property. But with GISBH? They didn’t pay a single cent and they didn’t get punished in anyway?”

Lhdn 2

“(GISB’s) assets are work RM350 million, their profits are RM190 million, but they have never paid taxes this whole time? LHDN examined me when I forgot to declare a very small income. This (GISB case) has to be an inside job.”

Others accused LHDN of being complicit in GISB’s wrongdoings.

Lhdn 1

“Ask SPRM to investigate LHDN. Don’t tell me a business this big isn’t being monitored? If it were regular folks, they’d be quick to take action. It feels like there’s something fishy going on.”

Lhdn 7

“(GISB) has their gang inside LHDN lah.”

Malaysians have also since called for transparency in how the authorities are going to handle the GISBH case as well as any investigations into law enforcement agencies’ involvement in this.

What do you think about this? Do feel free to share your thoughts in the comment section.
