A man narrowly escaped death when the car he was driving was involved in a collision with another vehicle along Jalan Pasir Pelangi in Johor, early Saturday morning (24 January).
Johor Bahru South District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Raub Selamat said the incident is believed to have occurred at around 6:50 AM and involved a Honda Civic and a Proton Wira.
“Investigations found that the accident happened when the Honda Civic, driven by a 30‑year‑old local man, was travelling from Permas Jaya towards the city centre.”
“The man lost control of his vehicle at the location while attempting to overtake a Proton Wira driven by a 52‑year‑old local woman,” he said.

Both drivers escaped without any injuries
Raub added that the Honda Civic skidded off the road before crashing into a pillar of the EDL (Eastern Dispersal Link Johor Bahru) flyover at the scene.
“However, both drivers involved were reported to have escaped without any injuries in the accident,” he said in a statement on Saturday.
He said the case is being investigated under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987, and members of the public who witnessed the incident are urged to come forward to assist with investigations.
