The founder of MegaStar Arena Kuala Lumpur, Paul Wong Chee Meng, has sadly passed away in an accident in Thailand on Saturday (22 November).
His Facebook page announced his passing while highlighting his contributions to the entertainment industry through MegaStar Arena, a live music venue that has seen the likes of international musicians such as David Foster, Sum 41, Incubus, Alon, Boney M and more, as well as world-renowned comedians such as Jo Koy and Singapore’s Kumar.

Paul Wong’s Facebook shared, “By the grace of God, we announce the passing of Mr Paul Wong Chee Meng, founder and chairman of MegaStar Arena Kuala Lumpur and Mega Group, a highly respected pioneer in Malaysia’s entertainment industry, who passed away in Thailand on 22 November 2025, due to an accident.”
“Mr Paul Wong was not only a driving force in the entertainment world but also a visionary leader and a devoted family man. He breathed new life into Malaysia’s entertainment landscape and helped nurture countless outstanding projects and talents. His passing is a tremendous loss to the industry and a deep pain to our hearts. His charisma, leadership, and passion left a legacy.”

The post went on to say that Paul was a loving husband to his wife and a devoted father to his 4 children.
“Beyond his accomplishments, he was a music enthusiast and a gifted piano prodigy. His faith was unwavering, his spirit adventurous, and his presence always lit up the room. Whether riding with joy or exploring the world, Paul embraced life fully, with kindness, strength, and perseverance,”
