With the Street View feature provided in Google Maps, you can clearly see the street conditions for each lane that Google has already marked. If it is through a residential road, then you can see the shape of the house, the situation outside the house and so on. To some extent, it can definitely affect your privacy.
In order to get back some privacy and prevent anyone from snooping on how your home, you can actually opt to blur out your house in Google Maps Street View. So when someone enters your address in Google Maps, they will not be able to see your house clearly. One important thing to remember is that once you have blurred out your house, it is irreversible and will forever stay blurred out on Google Maps Street View.
To get started, you need to go to www.google.com/maps on your computer and enter your home address in the field provided. Then click on the “little person icon” to activate Street View and click on the blue line and navigate until you are in front of your house.
Once you have found your house, click on “Report a problem” at the bottom right of your computer screen. You will be taken to the “Report Inappropriate Street View” page. Make sure you position your house in the red box so that you can continue making the report. You can also blur a face, a car or a vehicle license plate number and other objects too. You need to enter the email and click “Submit” to submit the form.
As shared by Lifehacker, Google will then contact you for additional information related to the report you created. If successful, Google will blur your home.
