Now that most borders have opened up, many Malaysians are looking to go out of the country for a different view.
The most important thing before going overseas is to actually get a passport for first-timers or to renew one for others.
Currently, UTCs and immigration offices are filled with people even in the wee hours of the morning and this has caused a surge of complaints from the public.
So in order to make sure that everyone can get their passports on time for their overseas trip, the immigration department has said on Facebook that there will be several branches of passport-issuing immigration offices nationwide that will be operating 7 days a week starting 28 January. They are:
- Menara Ikhlas, Putrajaya,
- Jalan Duta, Kuala Lumpur,
- Wangsa Maju, Kuala Lumpur,
- Shah Alam, Selangor,
- Kelana Jaya, Selangor,
- Kajang, Selangor,
- Puchong, Selangor,
- Kuala Selangor, Selangor,
- Kuala Kubu Bharu, Selangor,
- Ayer Keroh, Melaka,
- Seberang Jaya, Pulau Pinang,
- Taiping, Perak,
- Teluk Intan, Perak, &
- Lumut, Perak.
The operating hours for the above branches are 8am to 7pm on weekdays and 8am to 12.30pm on weekends.
For the branches below, the working hours are 8am to 7pm, Sunday to Thursday and 8am to 12.30pm on Fridays and Saturdays.
- Setia Tropika, Johor,
- Kulai, Johor,
- Muar, Johor,
- Batu Pahat, Johor,
- Kluang, Johor, &
- Kulim, Kedah.
UTCs in all states except for Perlis, Pahang, Kedah and Terengganu will operate from 8am to 7pm on weekdays and 8am to 5pm on weekends.
UTCs in Perlis, Pahang, Kedah and Terengganu will operate from 8am to 5pm every single day.
Do take note that the lunch hour for all offices is at 1-2pm!
We certainly hope that this will make it easier for us to get our passports done!
