Selangor Princess Tengku Zatasha visited the Nirvana Life Museum on Friday, 17 October, to pay her respects to the 16-year-old victim of the fatal stabbing at SMK Bandar Utama Damansara 4 in Petaling Jaya.
She expressed that words could not convey the depth of her grief for Xin’ai’s family, but was unexpectedly met with understanding from the victim’s parents regarding what she wished to say.

“As we spoke, I hugged her mother, we held each other’s hands, and she showed me pictures of her vibrant little daughter, who was taken from us far too soon.”
In her Instagram post, Tengku Zatasha also highlighted the strength of the grieving parents, saying their bravery in facing such a tragedy is unimaginable.
“What little words of comfort I could offer, the parents simply said, ‘We understand.’ My deepest condolences. May you rest in peace.”

As of 19 October, the 14-year-old suspect remains in police custody. His statement, along with those of 126 other witnesses, has been recorded. The victim, Yap Shing Xuen, was brutally stabbed 200 times with two knives that the suspect had purchased online, as confirmed by the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM).
Both PDRM and Shing Xuen’s mother confirmed that the victim did not know the suspect personally, and he had never confessed any feelings to her.
