In his press conference on 21 December, Health Director-General, Dr Noor Hisham talked about the Covid-19 outbreak within the frontliners.

At about the 30-minute mark, Dr. Noor Hisham says that the ministry has always been very diligent in reminding the people, not only the rakyat but also healthcare professionals as well that they should abide by the SOPs.

He further explained that the healthcare professionals have their own set of SOPs as well in terms of wearing a PPE suit and so on.

As there is an outbreak in the community right now, healthcare professionals who are exhibiting symptoms should not go to work. However, there are some who are experiencing symptoms but still went to the hospital to work. Some of them were not wearing their masks which caused the transmission of the virus.

Dr Noor Hisham then said that every single individual in the community should always abide by the SOPs given by the ministry and we should not be complacent as the virus can be transmitted at any moment.

He then lists out the hospitals which are facing outbreaks right now. They include Hospital Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Klang, Hospital Sungai Buloh and Hospital Serdang.

Dr Noor Hisham has confirmed that the places have since been sanitised and has stressed the importance of abiding by SOPs.
