There are educators out there who are truly willing to go above and beyond to help their students and their school.
Some teachers are willing to sacrifice their own earnings to help unfortunate students while others are willing to get extra jobs so that their school can have extra facilities. Mr Haji Aedil Mat is one of those people.
As according to Sinar Harian, Mr Haji, who is the headmaster of Sekolah Agama Menengah (SAM) Jeram, Kuala Selangor, is now delivering food via GrabFood in order to help pay for an open-air hall for his school.
And he didn’t think that it would garner so much attention!
“When the photo got around, many asked about it until I couldn’t answer them one by one. I did it as a gimmick to kickstart the donations even if it’s just RM5,” he said.
RM362,000 is needed to build the multipurpose, open-air hall and they’ve managed to raise RM167,000.
The construction for the hall should have already begun but due to the Covid-19 outbreak and various other unforeseen circumstances, the construction date has been pushed back.
“Nevertheless, we have thankful that we already have the approvals that we needed and are waiting for the next process. Insyaallah once completed, the hall will benefit the 825 students at the school. In the meantime, school authorities are using the surau as a gathering point. The open hall will be of great use including for extra-curricular activities and so forth,” he added.
It’s truly hard to find educators who are so committed to their students that they are willing to go above and beyond their obligated tasks in order to uplift their students and school.
Those who are interested in donating for Sekolah Agama Menengah (SAM) Jeram’s open hall can either contact Mr Haji at 019-2206072, or contribute to the PIBG Sekolah Agama Jeram via 8600730771 (CIMB BANK).
