One of the best lifestyle choices a person can make is to recycle and repurpose their old items into new ones so that materials do not go into rubbish dumps and to waste.
Which is why you should do exactly that with your old, unwanted shoes!
The State Legislative Assembly Representative (ADUN) for Subang Jaya, Michelle Ng Mei Sze, took to her official Facebook page to showcase an amazing partnership between EcoKnights and Dow Chemicals, which allows you to donate your old shoes so that the soles can be converted into playground surfaces!
She wrote, “Old Soles, New Life.”
“If you’ve got shoes that are too worn out, now you may consider upcycling them! EcoKnights and Dow Chemicals are partnering together with an initiative to turn old shoe rubber into high-density rubber granules which are commonly found in playground surfaces. In doing so, you’ll be giving new life to your old shoes.”
Interested in taking part in this initiative by donating your shoes?
Well, you can locate collection bins at Sunway University, Monash University, Taylor’s University and INTI University.
“We implore you, act now!”
What a great way to prevent more waste from piling up in our landfills!
