With Lee Zii Jia’s recent achievement, Malaysians can’t help but feel proud of the young badminton player who brought home Malaysia’s 2nd Bronze Medal from the Paris Olympics!
Here’s something else that you might have missed.
Lee Zii Jia’s world ranking went up from 7th to 6th spot following his recent victory in the Olympics badminton match.
According to the BWF World Championship, Zii Jia is currently ranked 6th in the world with a total of 83,716 points. Meanwhile, Chinese national player, Shi Yu Qi is ranked 1st in the world with a total of 102,415 points.
Another Chinese national player, Li Shi Feng, who was previously ranked 6th in the world dropped a spot to 7th.
This latest ranking takes into account the extra points the players received after the Paris 2024 Olympic Games badminton event that ended recently.
Zii Jia won the bronze medal after beating Lakshya Sen from India in a three-set match with 13-21, 21-16, and 21-11 results.
“Congratulations, Zee Jia! You’re the world’s 6th. To those who criticise him, ask yourself, what’s your world ranking?”
“Good one, Lee Zii Jia, the son of Kedah. Kedah has always produced talents like Lee Zii Jia and Lee Chong Wei.”
“And yet, he gets criticised. Our netizens are getting out of hand.”
“To those who constantly bash him, what’s your world ranking?”
Congratulations once again, Lee Zii Jia, and to our beloved Malaysian athletes who got the opportunity to perform in Paris, thank you for representing us!
