Delivery riders are truly heroes during this Covid-19 Movement Control Order (MCO).

They not only have to endure our insane Malaysian weather, but they can also get hurt, face blood, sweat and tears and still deliver our food to us so that we don’t go hungry.

Aku Ikmal Hanif (@akuikmalhanif) took to his Twitter account to showcase a GrabFood rider who had apparent gotten into quite an accident, but still showed up at his doorstep with his food.

He wrote, “I ordered from GrabFood and my rider got into an accident when he was delivering his food to me. His face was pale, there were wounds everywhere but he didn’t stop apologising for being late, ‘I’m sorry for making you wait sir, I’m sorry for the dirt’. So sad, I pray that our frontliners are protected. ‘I’m sorry sir, I fell off my bike’.”

The fact that the rider was hurt and yet he felt so bad that the food was delivered late is truly heartbreaking.

We genuinely hope that he’s okay, is healing from his wounds and is given enough time to rest.

But fret not, for GrabFood riders are covered by Grab’s Personal Accident insurance! Grab riders are protected when they’re met with accidents during their GrabFood and GrabExpress deliveries.

Riders like this man should be highly commended for his dedication to serving the Malaysian people, especially during such a time of crisis. They are not forced to work, but they do anyway for the sake our their livelihoods, their families and for us.

Thank you for your service, abang.
