Malaysian actor and comedian, Shahrol Azizie has lodged a police report against comedian Harith Iskander for his insensitive remark about the “ham & cheese” issue.

In his Facebook post last night (January 20), Shahrol shared a glimpse of the police report he made against Harith and urged the authorities to take action against the latter for his joke that was deemed “insulting” towards religion.

The report was also lodged against another Facebook user who left a comment under Harith’s post and capitalised “HAM” in “Mohammad”.

“For the sake of my religion, I have lodged a police report,” Shahrol said.

The actor also said he lodged a police report because Harith had opened the door and made space for others not to take this issue seriously.

“Your post has given others space to make a joke out of this matter. This is rude, don’t fool around,” he said.

What did Harith say in his post that caused this chain of reaction?

In case you missed it, Harith recently shared an image of a coffee menu – Ham Sap Kopi.

“Not just tempting me to become hamsap (pervert) but ALSO confusing me with the word ‘ham’ in it. Can we eat or drink this?”

Harith continued teasing by rhetorically asking if he should make a police report against it since the word shattered his faith, saying he had lost his ability to use logic.

Do you think Harith has taken it a little too far, or was it merely a harmless joke?
