Malaysia has popped up in lots of movies, either as part of the story or as the actual place where they filmed. It’s exciting to know that filmmakers pick Malaysia for its beautiful architectural buildings that make awesome backgrounds for all kinds of movies.

In a recent update shared by @thunderbnews, @florencepugh is reportedly in Malaysia this week to film scenes for the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) movie called Thunderbolts.

Florence Pugh is in KL!

According to the update, Florence’s appearance in the country is rumored to be for filming a scene that involves a character jumping off Kuala Lumpur’s Merdeka 118, the world’s second-highest building.

If that wasn’t convincing enough, Florence’s sister, Arabella Gibbins, shared a photo on her Instagram with the iconic Twin Towers in the background, tagging Florence in the post as well.

“Never thought I’d be in Malaysia this year”

In Arabella’s post, she shares how the past few days have felt surreal and mentions that she never expected to be in Malaysia this year. The caption of her post reads,

“Taking it all in. So many moments and sights to savor. Never thought I’d be in Malaysia this year, so thank you, thank you, thank you lucky stars (aka @florencepugh & @theo_smith).”

The Instagram post has definitely fueled more rumours that “Thunderbolts” filming occurred in the city. And it seems that they have done an excellent job keeping it a secret!

According to Marvel Cinematic Universe Wiki, Thunderbolt is scheduled for release on May 5 in 2025.
