A condominium in Mont Kiara, Kuala Lumpur, caught fire last night (10 December). The blaze resulted in the death of a man on the 26th floor.
Photos of the fire circulated on Threads by @klrealestateguys, with the blaze visible on high floors. In addition, the post urged the public to make way for firefighters to carry out their rescue operation.

The Kuala Lumpur Operations Centre (PGO) said that the Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) received an emergency call at 8:46 PM regarding the incident, which occurred on the 26th floor of the building.
“Upon arrival, the team found a unit on fire. Firefighting and rescue operations were immediately launched, but faced difficulties because the building’s fire prevention system was not functioning properly.”
Two transport pumps and a mechanical pump had to be used to channel water to the units involved. According to the Threads post, the fire was still visible at 10 PM, and black smoke was seen billowing out of the units.
The 38-year-old victim was found dead with 100% burns
According to PGO, the victim, who was found on the balcony, was confirmed dead at the scene by medical personnel from the Ministry of Health (MOH). The fire was completely extinguished at 2.03 AM, and the cause of the incident is still under investigation by the forensic unit, reported Kosmo!.
Segambut Member of Parliament (MP), Hannah Yeoh, was also present at the scene, and according to her updates on Facebook, the smoke-clearing process was carried out around 2:20 AM, but the residents would have to wait for further instructions from the firefighters before returning to their respective homes.
