The road is full of dangers and is not meant for cyclists unless there is a designated lane for those on bicycles.
In a video shared by the Facebook page SG Road Vigilante – SGRV, a driver in Singapore recently honked at one of the cyclists on the road who was a little too near to the car. When the driver wanted to avoid the cyclist, he angrily punched the hood of the car twice.
The cyclist didn’t like being honked at and it was obvious that he was unhappy about it. His fist of fury caused an obvious dent in the hood.
The incident took place at a traffic light on Sungei Tengah Road on Sunday (September 10) around 8:45 am. When the car was nearing the traffic light, other cyclists were seen moving further to their left to allow space for the car, but not the cyclist who was honked. After he punched the hood, the driver angrily told the cyclist that everything was recorded on the dashcam and he would proceed to lodge a police report.
The driver asked for the cyclist’s details, to which he said “f*ck off” to the driver.
Regardless, both parties stopped the vehicles by the road and tried to reach a common ground. A couple of other cyclists also stopped and tried to mediate the situation. Another video was shared in the same group, where the driver recorded and focused on the dent on his hood.
It is unclear if both parties managed to resolve the situation but according to a report by 8 World, a Singaporean media, police officers were dispatched to the scene, and the matter is currently still under investigation. You can watch the clip below.
If you have to cycle on the road, just be sure you keep to the side of the road and avoid cycling in the middle of the road. This will not only endanger other road users but it can potentially harm your life.
