Buying something for your parents is an especially arduous task as their response is usually “Aiya, why get me such an expensive present!”

However, that will never stop us from showering our love on them because let’s face it, no amount of gifts is ever sufficient to replace their love and affection over the years.

Recently, Twitter user @chipchipnoi, Salwani, shared a heartwarming story of her father. Salwani, was busy preparing a money bouquet for her father’s birthday, but her father himself came to help her with the bouquet, unaware that it was for him!

“The problem now is that the bouquet was meant for his birthday this upcoming Hari Raya Haji. But the owner himself is decorating the bouquet as we lied to him saying it’s for a booking.  It’s so difficult to act! He’s the only treasure we have left in this world.”

Salwani further added that one of the biggest happiness in the world is making your parents happy but ever since her mother passed away, her father is all she has left.

As a final message, Salwani just said that she wishes her father is granted health and longevity. “Give me more time to repay all that you did for me,” she said.

Salwani’s story should remind us to appreciate our parents with whatever little time we have with them. During these uncertain times, pull your loved ones closer and cherish them more.
