A little kindness often goes a long way.

A charity house in Penang known as, House of Hope, recently received an unexpected surprise when a man walked into their organisation with RM1,400 in donations.

In their Facebook post, the charity house explained that many years ago, they gave RM1,400 to the man so he could fund his daughter’s medical school education. Fast forward to the present day and he shows up to the charity house to repay and thank them. It was their financial provision that allowed this father to fund his daughter’s pursuit of a career in the medical field.

With a father’s glowing pride, he announced that his daughter is now a medical doctor in Kedah and has taken over the responsibility of caring for her parents.

“We don’t know how long it took for him to accumulate this amount, but we do know he chose to remember our actions from so long ago; and that through this single visit today, he has reminded us all at the House of Hope of the purpose we serve and the hands we hold,” penned the Facebook post.

House of Hope is a non-profit government organisation that seeks to break the cycle of poverty by meeting the critical needs of the people to give them hope for a better future. And they certainly accomplished that in this case!

Always choose kindness.
