“Not many people do this anymore”
Speaking of going green, this adorable uncle took the initiative to bring his own tiffin to pack his nasi kandar, a small but meaningful effort that could help the environment.
Penang’s famous nasi kandar spot, Nasi Kandar Sulaiman, shared their admiration on Facebook, highlighting how rare it is for people to go the extra mile, let alone use a tiffin for takeaway food.
Their post caption reads,
“Here’s our uncle, buying dishes and rice to put in his tiffin. Saves on paper wrapping and plastic. Not many people do this anymore!”
Netizens found the uncle’s initiative adorable, flooding the comment section with their thoughts and reactions.
“Need to buy a tiffin to take when I go for nasi kandar. No need to wrap it anymore. I need to find a tiffin bowl with a nicer design.”
“You’re the best, uncle!”
“Such a stylish tiffin box. You’re the best, uncle!”
“You’re the best, uncle. This can be an example for others. Isn’t that right, mamu?”
“Maybe the uncle doesn’t want to use plastic because he believes that hot food, when placed in plastic, could release harmful chemicals that are bad for health.”
“I think the food in the tiffin bowl tastes great. It reminds me of the old days when we used to bring tiffin for picnics.”
