Previously, the Attorney-General’s Chambers (AGC) announced that several suspects would be charged in connection with the bullying case of the late Form 1 student, Zara Qairina Mahathir.
The AGC said the decision was made based on evidence gathered from the police investigation papers into her death.

Zara’s diary was found
In a recent update, Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution revealed that a 51-page diary, written by Zara before her death, has been discovered.
According to China Press, the diary was handed over to the police by a school teacher and is now being used as evidence in the ongoing investigation.
Saifuddin said the diary detailed how Zara had been bullied and sexually harassed at school. A handwriting expert later confirmed that the diary was indeed written by her.
“What’s even more shocking is that the diary also contains allegations of sexual harassment. So, apart from bullying, the police have now added ‘neglect’ and ‘sexual harassment’ as key elements in their investigation,” he said.

She complained to the school, but no action followed
Saifuddin noted that Zara had written in her diary about being bullied at school and that she had even filed a formal complaint, but the matter wasn’t taken seriously.
After obtaining the diary, a psychology expert from Bukit Aman’s D11 Crimes Against Women and Children Division managed to piece together Zara’s movements before her murder, including where she was at 11 PM and what happened in the dormitory after 10 PM.
He added that the diary will also help experts assess Zara’s mental state on the night of the incident.
