A man and a woman got it super lucky when they narrowly escaped being severely injured by a fault escalator. According to the CTGN, the incident took place at a particular metro station in Suzhou, east China’s Jiangsu Province on the 23rd of March.

According to the video, the duo had just gotten on the escalator, and within seconds it malfunctioned and started breaking itself apart violently, sending several parts of the escalator flying out.

This isn’t the first case of a malfunctioned escalator. Several cases of faulty escalators have been reported throughout the years, even in Malaysia, most notably the Sunway Pyramid and Garden Mall’s escalator incident, not forgetting the reversing escalator incident in Hong Kong days ago, which caused 18 people to be injured.
