A Malaysian tech content creator recently took to TikTok to share a horrific incident he and his family faced after a power bank suddenly exploded inside his room, causing his house in Cheng, Melaka to catch on fire.

As a result, the man, Amad Zahry, suffered considerable losses as beyond the damages to the home, his electronic devices, including the setup he used to record videos, were also fully lost to the fire.

In a series of videos, Amad shared how his house was engulfed in flames and the aftermath of the fire which left nothing but rubbles inside his home.

The tech reviewer elaborated that the power bank suddenly exploded at around 1.30am despite it not being in use or showing signs of swelling.

He further revealed that the power bank exploded right beside his wife, though thankfully, she nor anyone else in the home was injured by the fire.

As for the fire itself, Amad said that the power bank explosion caused the curtains in his room to catch on fire.

They didn’t have time to put out the fire as smoke was filling the room and quickly fled the house to safety.

He added,

“I managed to bring a smartphone with me when escaping and called the firemen. They arrived quickly and Alhamdulillah, there was no injuries.

“I can only look at the fire, everything is lost,”

Nothing was left but rubbles inside his room where his PC and video recording setup are located. Furthermore, the roof was also completely destroyed due to the fire.
