We’ve often been annoyed by babies who are too noisy in enclosed public settings like restaurants, but the most we would do request that the parents calm their baby down. However, this lady from China took it more than a little too far by taking matters into her own hands.

Nextshark reported that a pregnant woman was caught on surveillance camera footage dumping hot soup on a baby for being too noisy. Apparently, the pregnant woman, Ren, became visibly furious at an 11-month-old baby girl who was banging the table with a spoon. Oh dear!

FYI, the shocking incident took place in Xiangcheng, Henan province, China.

Prior to her impulsive and dangerous move, Ren was in a bad mood as she just had an argument with her husband. This mood was not improved by the confrontation Ren had with that baby’s mummy, Yang, about her daughter being noisy, which added fuel to the fire. In a dramatic culmination of these previous events, Ren decided to purposely injure the baby.

According to the restaurant employee, Ren, who is six months pregnant, was initially convinced by her husband to leave the place.

Nonetheless, the vengeful lady returned 10 minutes later only to pour scorching hot soup on the poor baby. We can only imagine the pain the baby must have been in.

After the incident, the Xiangcheng police issued a 15-day detention and a 500 yuan fine (RM300). However, she managed to escape being detained as she is pregnant.

Having said that, Yen has paid for the child’s medical bills but the authorities are still looking into the seriousness of the injuries done to the baby and mother.

At the time of writing, police are still investigating the case further.

Well, we hope that the police will quickly look for a solution to this matter. That said, we wish the baby a speedy recovery from her condition and hope she continues to live a healthy life.
