Working from home was never a thing until the Covid-19 pandemic struck the world. Many employees were required to “bring their office” back and WFH to break the chain of the COVID-19 virus.

The founder of Tesla, Elon Musk has always made it clear that he’s not a fan of WFH and he will never encourage his employees to work someplace else other than the office. Elon certainly has a lot to say and disagree about WFH and recently, he dubbed the culture of WFH “bullsh*t”, and said he believed we’re more productive in person.

“You’re detached from reality”

The reality is, despite the existence of the Covid-19 virus, many of us have learned to live with the virus and while WFH is sometimes practiced on a rotational basis in some places, does WFH really mean we’re detached from reality? According to the founder of Tesla, yes, we are!

“How detached from reality does the work-from-home crowd have to be while they take advantage of all those who cannot work from home?”

Elon thinks it’s morally wrong to still work from home because it’s unfair to those who have no choice but to commute to their workplace every day, reported the San Francisco Chronicle.

“What about those who assemble your car in the factory? What about those who deliver your food?”

In the interview, Elon tried to prove his point about the ineffectiveness and the irrelavance by asking a rhetorical question.

“Why did I sleep in the factory so many times? Because it mattered.”

To those who are still working from home on a rotational basis or even if you’re completely not in the office anymore, what do you think about Elon’s statement? To all the employers out there, what do you think about WFH?
