Elderly M’sian Worker Dies After Being Impaled by a Forklift’s Metal Prong at a Factory in Kuching

On March 15, a 70-year-old man tragically died after an accident at a factory in the Pending Industrial Area, Kuching.

In a statement shared by Kuching District Police, he passed away after the fork of a forklift pierced his chest, and the factory reported the incident to the police around 4 PM.

The victim was pinned between pallets and a forklift

Kuching District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohd Farhan Lee Abdullah, said a team from Bintawa Police Station was sent over as soon as they received the report.

“When they arrived, they found a 70-year-old man, who was the forklift driver, unconscious and trapped between a pile of pallets and the forklift prong that hit his left chest,” he explained.

He added that paramedics were called to the scene, and they confirmed that the man had died on the spot.

“Anyone with info is urged to contact the police”

Mohd Farhan urged the public not to speculate on the tragic incident out of respect for the victim’s family.

Anyone with information about the incident is urged to contact Bintawa Police Station Chief, Sergeant Major Siti Mariam Hamid, at 016-4661345, the Bintawa Police Station at 082-335930, or any nearby police station.
