While many of us struggle to get as much out of the world as we can, there are others who live happily with the little they have.

Kuan Chee Heng, aka Uncle Kentang, took to his Facebook page to showcase an elderly woman living in the middle of KL in a 10 x 10 square feet hut, where she sleeps on the floor, right next to her kitchen.

He wrote, “Salute to this woman. Even though her house is small, but it is clean and well taken care of. This Chinese lady sleeps in a 10 by 10 hut. No mattress as she sleeps on the floor for the past 11 years. She depends on selling her home-grown vegetables for some food.”

Uncle Kentang added that his team will send her some rations on a monthly basis.

“It is nice to see her so well kept and tidy. Poor, but smart and prudent. Thank God for meeting with her. It is an exhilarating experience as the hut is smack in the middle of KL. She enjoys watching the moon and stars each night, she told us.”

“Such an amazing and tough lady. Her kitchen is ONLY INCHES AWAY FROM WHERE SHE SLEEPS. May God bless her. I will buy a tonto bed and give her.”

He urges anyone who is willing to send some Chinese New Year cookies to the woman to step forward by contacting Uncle Kentang at +60122732148.

It’s so refreshing to see how someone can happily live such a simple life especially in a big city like KL. It truly reminds us to be grateful for whatever we have.

We genuinely hope Uncle Kentang ensures that her sleeping situation is safe.
