In the recent spike of Covid-19 cases in Malaysia, our government has taken it upon themselves to enforce the Movement Control Order (MCO), which encourages people to stay in their homes in a bid to stop the virus from spreading. However, cases of infection continue to be reported, including one from a toll plaza on a local highway, according to Sinar Harian and The Star.
According to both papers, PLUS Malaysia Bhd, which operates and maintains the toll plaza, had confirmed that one of its employees working at the Ebor toll plaza had tested positive for Covid-19. The staff member, a customer relations assistant, is being treated at a local government hospital.
PLUS has also instructed all of its staff members who have had close contact with the infected patient to conduct health tests and self-quarantine.
As for the toll plaza itself, the Ebor toll plaza entrance, heading towards the Elite highway, will be temporarily closed from 12.10am until 11.59pm today (19th March 2020) for sanitisation works.
PLUS has also reminded all Malaysians to respect the Movement Control Order (MCO) that was enforced by the government on 18th March 2020.
So guys, if you’re thinking of going anywhere within Malaysia, cancel those plans immediately and stay home! Public health is everyone’s responsibility, so do your part to curb the spread of the infection.
