Malaysian entrepreneur, Dato Seri Vida and her family recently returned home from vacation in Switzerland, only to be “greeted” with a piece of bad news.
On its FB post yesterday (March 6), the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Costs of Living (KPDN) revealed that the team in Perak has confiscated a food product – the viral Salted Egg Salmon Skin which is widely available online. The organisation raided the manufacturing place of the food on suspicion of using an invalid Halal logo on the snack.
KPDN confiscated all snacks at the scene which were worth RM88,582 in total.
During the raid, a Malaysian woman, the manager of the premise was also at the scene to help in the investigation. When asked for the official Halal certificate, the woman failed to produce any.
“We conducted this raid after receiving public information regarding the misuse of Halal logo 0n their products.”
If found guilty, the business owner can be fined not more than Rm100,000 or face jail time of not more than 3 years, and the company is also at risk for a fine of not more than RM250,000.
“I don’t know anything about it”
KPDN did not mention the name of the business or the names of the business runners, but suspicion about Dato Seri Vida’s involvement rose immediately. Her daughter, Cik B has been selling the products online.
DSV, however, has not confirmed or denied the confiscation.
“I don’t know anything about it. I just returned from Switzerland and I just woke up.”
Speaking to the media, DSV said that she is still observing the media reports about the confiscation to understand further.
However, the Malaysian entrepreneur assured that she was happy to cooperate with the authorities, and said there was no point for her to evade investigation.
“I’m ready to be investigated and interrogated by the authorities. Why would I run away? As of now, I don’t know much because I was not at the scene during the raid.”
On DSV’s TikTok @datoserividaofficial, she has yet to make any official statement regarding the confiscation. In her latest TikTok post, DSV was seen promoting the snack during her vacation in Switzerland, which you can watch below.

Many netizens tried asking if it was her products that got confiscated but DSV has yet to reply to them.
