A driver of a luxury Audi A6 was arrested after allegedly crashing into two motorcycles belonging to the Motorcycle Patrol Unit (URB) at Kilometre 8, Johor Bahru–Air Hitam Road earlier this morning.
The incident occurred at around 4 am, when two police officers, aged 29 and 36, were on duty managing traffic at the location.

Johor Bahru Utara District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Balveer Singh Mahindar Singh, said one of the officers sustained injuries to his left leg and was rushed to Sultanah Aminah Hospital (HSA), while the other officer escaped unharmed.
“Initial investigations revealed that the car, driven by a 23-year-old man from Skudai, is believed to have lost control before crashing into two Kawasaki EX250 motorcycles belonging to the URB, which were parked near the scene.”
“One officer suffered a leg injury and is being treated at HSA. The other officer and the driver were not injured,” he said in a statement today.
Balveer Singh added that an alcohol test conducted on the driver showed he was intoxicated, although he tested negative for drugs.

The suspect has been remanded for two days to assist in the investigation under Section 44(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
If convicted, the offender could face up to 15 years in prison, a maximum fine of RM100,000, and a 10-year driving license suspension.
Police are urging anyone with information about the accident to contact Investigating Officer Inspector Noor Azlina Abdul Raof at 019-7432966.
