The police are currently investigating a hit-and-run incident involving a 24-year-old woman, who’s a food delivery rider, and a driver in Penang, following the circulation of a viral video capturing the incident on the road.
The Barat Daya District Police released a statement on their Facebook page detailing that the victim filed a police report on October 1st after sustaining injuries from the accident.
The driver hit the victim and drove away
In the video, both the suspect and the victim were stopped at a red light. As soon as the light turned green, the driver could be seen accelerating and suddenly veering to the left and striking the victim with their car, causing her to fall to the ground instantly.

The case is still under investigation
The statement also revealed that, as a result of the severity of the fall, the woman sustained multiple injuries, including trauma to her face, teeth, back, and shoulder.
The case is still being looked into, and the police are asking anyone with information to contact the investigating officer, Sergeant Rohayu Binti Mohammad Rodzi, at 019-3441817.
