In a truly sickening act, a mentally deranged 19-year old had apparently murdered his grandmother and then chopped her up into pieces, reports The Rakyat Post.

The murder is believed to have taken place around 6.30pm on Tuesday at the victim’s house in Felda Pengeli Timur. Bringing back nightmares from the movie Se7en, the victim’s head was found at her front door.

Her torso was later found in the kitchen sink while her dismembered hands and legs were found close beside it. The victim was identified to be Maimon Abdul Samad.

“Her head was found at the front door, while the rest of the body was found underneath the kitchen sink,” Kota Tinggi OCPD Supt Rahmat Othman said in a statement, according to The Star.

Although the motive for the gruesome murder is still unknown, authorities were able to recover the murder weapon and locate the suspect at an oil plantation about 2 hours later.

The murder weapon, a seven-inch (18cm) long blade was found discarded in a flower pot at the victim’s residence.

“The teenager was believed to have experienced mental disturbance after stopping his medication for several months.” said OCPD Supt Rahmat.
