A political influencer recently got a lot of heat after she posted a video claiming that a Chinese school in Perak was singing the Negaraku anthem in a different language at an event that DAP Socialist Youth Chief Woo Kah Leong also attended.
DAP MP Syerleena Rashid has since voiced her opinions on the matter, slamming those obsessed with painting anything linked to DAP in a bad light.

“It’s pathetic and shameful”
In Syerleena’s TikTok video, she explained that what actually happened at the event was that everyone was singing the Perak anthem, which has a similar melody to the Negaraku.
“Historically, Negaraku was adapted from the same tune. And yes, they were singing it in Bahasa Malaysia,” she added.

She also pointed out that this incident wasn’t a mistake in the first place, but more of a deliberate attempt to stir up hatred, just because it took place at a Chinese school.
“There are some people out there who are so obsessed with demonising anything even remotely linked to DAP. It’s pathetic and shameful when political hate goes so far that even innocent children become targets of slander,” she said.

“It’s time M’sians reject this toxic culture”
Syerleena also pointed out that the opposition has no “real solutions” and hasn’t offered any solid debates on issues like the economy, education, or nation-building. Instead, they keep focusing on the 3 R’s (race, religion, and royalty).
She then urged Malaysians to stop fueling the toxic political culture and said it’s time to draw a line and say, enough is enough.
