Starting 1st July, spa, wellness and reflexology centres are allowed to re-open and resume operations, said Defence Minister, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob in a live press conference today (26th June).
“Among the travel subsectors allowed to open starting 1st July are: Meetings, Incentive, Conventions and Exhibitions (MICE), Travel and Tradefare, and Spa, Wellness and Reflexology Centres,” said the minister at Putrajaya today.
However, as with other industries that have opened up, these centres are expected to follow the specified SOPs of registering customers, taking their temperatures before they enter the premise and ensuring both employees and customers are wearing masks. Each centre is also to be equipped with hand sanitiser dispensers.
“What’s most important, is ensuring that customers register with local authorities before entering the premise. Nonetheless, this is only applicable to Malaysians for now and not people of other nationalities,” stressed the minister when addressing the re-opening of spa and wellness centres.
“Those who want to resume operations must also get permission from PBT (local authorities) and employees will have to undergo Covid-19 tests before they’re allowed to open up again.”
