International students have been wondering when were they allowed to come back to Malaysia to continue their studies. In his press conference today, Defence Minister, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob announced that international students will now be allowed to return to the country.
He added that these students will not have to obtain approval from the immigration department. Swab tests will either be conducted at the entrance of our country or at the departure of their country.
However, the students MUST register with the Education Ministry and Higher Education Ministry and the Immigration Department will have a list to cross-check at Malaysian airports. If these students are coming from a green-zone country, they won’t be required to self-quarantine. But, other than that, they will be required to self-quarantine in their Malaysian homes.
Whoever entering the country must download the MySejahtera app.
