For the past week, the quarantine centres in the form of three-star hotels and above have been going viral including Hilton KL, Sunway Pyramid Hotel and even Palace of Golden Horses. Health Minister, Dr Adham Baba, announced these are just 31 hotels in Kuala Lumpur of the 472 premises all over the country designated to house quarantined individuals that are a risk of the virus.

Defence Minister, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, explained in his press conference today regarding the issue that has been going viral.

The government will only cover the cost of the room and meal up to RM150 per day. Any additional costs such as laundry will be paid by the individuals themselves.”

He added that there were some individuals who requested their own hotels hence certain individuals were seen in 4 or even 5-star hotels.

Netizens are advised to not spread any fake news before thoroughly investigating. Kudos to the minister for his quick clarification!
