The owner of a hardware store in Penang recently went viral after accidentally hanging the Jalur Gemilang upside down in front of his shop.
Previously, WORLD OF BUZZ reported that the 59-year-old, who was arrested on Saturday night (August 9), was released on police bail the next day (August 10).

“DAP strongly condemns the actions of certain parties…”
In response, DAP Secretary-General Anthony Loke Siew Fook released a statement slamming certain groups for trying to pressure the Attorney General’s Chambers (AGC) into prosecuting the shopkeeper.
“This is interference and an attempt to influence prosecution decisions without proper consideration. The Attorney General must be free to make decisions without political pressure,” he wrote.
He also revealed that these groups had threatened to stage a protest in front of the shop if no charges were filed soon.

“DAP will hand out 831 free flags to show unity”
Loke stressed the need to stay rational and handle the matter in a calm, respectful way.
“This is blatant bullying, and it’s completely unacceptable. We must oppose bullying in schools, and we must also strongly condemn the bullying of senior citizens. But when dealing with such immature actions, we should respond with clear thinking and a courteous approach.”
He shared that DAP will be sponsoring a giant Jalur Gemilang to be installed at the shop so the public can clearly see that the flag is now displayed correctly.
“If anyone tries to disrupt the peace at the shop, Penang DAP members will greet them by giving out 831 Jalur Gemilang flags for free, as a show of unity ahead of August 31.”
