Cyclists are urging authorities to allow them to use the motorcycle routes on main highways as a special route for them on the weekends.
According to Astro Awani, the matter was voiced by the Founder of Plan A Bukit Jelutong Community, Faz Adhili, in an effort to ensure the safety of cyclists.
“This is because on weekends, the traffic flow on motorcycle routes, especially in the Klang Valley, is very low.”
He also said that this is an effective and efficient approach and will require tolerance from all parties to succeed.
He further explained that although there are cycling lanes for cyclists in Shah Alam and Kuala Lumpur, the lanes cannot be fully utilised as there are always parked cars and hawker stalls obstructing traffic.
