People got into a panic before this when it was reported that pets may get infected with the novel coronavirus, and they reacted by killing or dumping these poor creatures. However, it warms our hearts to know that there are still good and kind people out there who love their pets so much that they try their best to protect them from harm.

Netizens were amused recently when they saw a pet owner going above and beyond to protect their furkid from the coronavirus. According to QQ, the netizen said they went out to buy food and posted two photos on Weibo, showing a very beloved pet cat with its owner.

It is believed that the photo was taken in China but it is unsure when and where. While it is not unusual for a cat to be at the roadside, what’s amusing is that the owner has decided to protect their pet to the best of their ability by making it wear a mask. However, they had gotten a human-sized surgical mask for the cat, which means that it was too big for the kitty’s face.

Hence, the owner carefully modified the mask to fit the cat, by cutting out two holes for the eyes. That’s because the mask is simply too big and covers the kitty’s whole face. It looks simply adorable! Other netizens also shared photos of loving owners who took the extra step to protect their beloved pets by swaddling them in protective material or masks.

Nevertheless, it is actually not necessary for your pets to wear masks at all. China Press reports that animals do not have a uniform face so when you make them wear masks, it can be very uncomfortable for them. There is also no new evidence that cats and dogs will get infected by the Wuhan coronavirus so owners do not need to panic.

Always check with your vet if you find that your beloved pet is not feeling well and ask them about any precautionary measures that you want to take!
