A recent video has Malaysians in stitches after a baby boy was spotted locked inside a car, casually lying on the dashboard, in an incident in Sabah.
In a TikTok video shared by his mother, @sarahprotonmy, she recalled waiting in line at the eco shop with her older daughter and son when her husband decided to take their youngest son to the car first.

According to Sarah, she later got a call from her husband saying their son had been locked inside the car.
“My husband had put the stroller in the boot, started the engine and air conditioning, and placed the baby inside. When he tried to open the driver’s door, it was locked from the inside. The little one had probably been playing and accidentally pressed the lock button,” she explained.
In a panic, she tried to get her baby to unlock the car from the inside, but to no avail.
“I tried to calm him by showing a demo video of how to unlock the car from the inside, hoping he’d copy it. But he was happily playing, completely oblivious to his panicking mom. Within five minutes, more and more people had gathered around to help, including other worried parents.
“Some tried using tape techniques to lower the car window, but it didn’t work, the tape tore, and the window didn’t move. Others tried prying the driver’s door, and some even suggested breaking the window.”
The fireman managed to unlock the car in under 5 minutes
After all attempts to unlock the car failed, Sarah’s husband had no choice but to call the fire department, noting that breaking the window would be a last resort since the baby seemed fine inside.
“I felt embarrassed because it was our own carelessness, but my worry for the baby was stronger. I kept showing him the demo video and tapping on the window so he could see.”
When the fire department arrived, Sarah felt a huge sense of relief as the abang bomba managed to unlock the car in under five minutes.
“Thank you to the Sandakan firemen for acting so efficiently, to JPAM for their care, and to the Sandakan community for being so attentive and willing to help without judgment. Sandakan residents are truly the best,” she added.
Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, she reminded parents never to leave young children alone in a car without an adult.
