Snakes have always ended up where you least expect them to in Malaysia.
From under car hoods to laundry baskets, you’ll never know when they’ll suddenly pop-up again.
The Info Roadblock JPJ/POLIS Facebook page took to their profile to showcase a small cobra hiding in the filing cabinet of a school in Tanjong Karang, Selangor.

They wrote, “The presence of a 0.5 meter long cobra caused panic among school teachers as it hid itself in the filing cabinet at the office of Sekolah Kebangsaan Sungai Sireh, Tanjong Karang. The 100 gram reptile was found at about 10:30am by a male teacher in his 30s while he was looking for a document.”
Thankfully, the Kuala Selangor Civil Defense Force (APM) Team Officer, Junior Lieutenant (PA) Suzaini Sulaiman said that three members, including himself, had rushed to the scene after receiving an emergency call at 10:36am.
“Inspections at the location found that the snake was in a three-storey filing cabinet. We took about 10 minutes to catch the snake using a special picker,” he said.
They were also kind enough to release the snake back into the wild at a nearby jungle.
Luckily, the snake was detected and the school authorities called in APM as they should. Never try to handle a snake on your own.
