A civil servant in Johor works hard for his dream. After work, the man prepares for his second job at night—running his burger stall so that he can save up for his dream house.
34-year-old Azhari rushed home every day after work to prepare the ingredients and condiments. By 6 pm, Azhari is ready at his stall to serve the customers, and he usually runs his stall until 12 am, reported China Press.

Azhari is currently renting from his relatives and staying with his wife and kids. However, the rental is just temporar,y as Azhari doesn’t think it’s a long-term solution.
“I’m hoping to find extra income to improve my family’s financial situation while I am still young.”
“I came up with the idea of starting a business after work a few months ago, so I started with a burger stand with minimal costs,” he shared.
When he just began, he admitted that the customer flow was his main concern. Fate, however, has its ways to surprise us. Azhari is surprised to know that his customers are happy with his food, and some even patronize his stall two to three times a week.
“I am very happy and this gives me the confidence to continue working as a burger vendor.”

So far, Azhari said that Chinese New Year was the busiest period he had ever experienced.
Azhari also said he and his wife hope to buy their own home within one to two years and are currently prioritizing applications for affordable housing in Johor, which is priced at RM150,000, although they are not large in size.

“With our combined salary and our side business selling burgers , it’s not impossible for us to realize our dream of buying a house, but there are still many factors to consider, especially that they have three children to raise.”
With two jobs on his shoulders now, Azhari said he has less time to spend with his children but hopes that they understand. Azhari sells his burgers as low as RM5.
